The week of Oct. 28- Nov. 1
We are working on our last sections of chemistry "states of Matter"
We will be having a quiz in the near future.
There is a Study Island assignment that is due on Oct. 31 for 10 pts
For the week of Oct. 21:
We have been going over our quiz from last week. Grades for that quiz will be posted by Thursday.
We also started working on Study Island. There are 3 assignments that must be completed. Oct.31. A grade of 70% or higher is required to earn the 10 pts.
We are also starting our last section in Chemistry- "States of Matter"
Friday Oct. 4 we had a test on measuring matter. They are corrected and are posted
on Skyward. We will be going over the tests in class on Tuesday.
Our goal is to finish this chapter and test by MEA break. which is Oct.16
I will be sending home a study guide towards the end of this week.
This Friday Oct. 4 we will be having a quiz on measuring matter. A study guide was sent home on Monday.
Students should be making flashcards, which are also due on Friday.
Week of 9/9- 9/13
We started talking about chemistry this week. We will be having a quiz on the
first couple of pages of the packet on Sept. 17. Students are encouraged to make
flashcards. This is a great study skill for them, and I do give point to those student who make them.
April 29-May 3
Thermal Energy test Monday or Tuesday
We will be starting a one week unit from Excel Energy.
My kids will be bringing home efficiency kits for you to keep.
April 22-26
How Heat Travels- Has been our focus this week!
Conduction,Convection,and Radiation are the ways!!!
Conduction Lab went great!!!
We will be finishing up this unit at the end of next week, so be on the lookout for
a study guide for an upcoming test.
Starting a new unit on thermal energy.
Packets will be handed out today!
More info will come as we get into our last 2 units
Feb 19-22
Continue working in our Force packet in classs
Wed. -Sneakers Lab
Go over our test that was taken on Feb.14
*There is no homework at this time*
Jan.29-Feb.1
This week in science we will be finishing up our motion packet as well
as doing a couple of labs.
Calculating Speed Lab-10pts
Inclined Roll Lab-10pts
We will be having an assessment on Feb. 8th on "Motion"
Our next chapter will be "Force"
Jan19-22
Science/Social blocks have been changed from everyday for 40 min, to every other day for 80 min.
We decided that it would be easier to do activities and labs if we had a longer blocks of time. Students still receive the same amount of instructional
time per week.
Tues/Wed.-Study Island 2 assignments for Motion/Force -Continue to work on motion packet with partners
Thurs/Fri. Videos on plate tectonics and slow motion-Complete second half of the packet with partners
Jan. 3-5
Arch Bridges - Wed/Thur
Work on flashcards in class on Friday.
We will be finished building bridges on January 10th
Vocab quiz will be on Jan. 11
Dec. 10-14
Truss Bridges Labs/engineering process (Monday- Friday)
Nov. 26-30
Introduction to engineering/ bridge building
We will be talking about and six different types of bridges for the next 2 weeks. Each bridge will take a couple of days.
Wed. I will introduce beam bridges. There will be worksheets that go along with each bridge.
Some worksheets will be done in class and some will be homework.
There will be a couple of short quizzes and a final test. I will provide a study guide and a list
of vocabulary terms that they will need to know. Making flashcards to study their vocabulary word
is an efficient way to study for quizzes and test. I will be assigning points in my grade book for flashcards.
